Take the wrong turn
A detour, an unfamiliar street, and the small pleasure of finding something you weren’t looking for.
A familiar route makes a day easy. An unfamiliar one can make it interesting. The next time you have a little room in your schedule, choose the other street.
Look for the details you usually hurry past: a handwritten sign, an open courtyard, a shop window full of odd objects. There does not have to be a destination for the walk to have been worthwhile.
